Himalayan Inn Homestay

From every corners and walls of every room dampness spot can be seen. Cold cloud enters rooms if doors and windows are kept open. Shabby, moist, damp that how rooms can be described. Service are poor too every morning you have to call the owner inside from bathroom that water has stopped coming. Location wise if you can climb up and down through narrow stairs and then go up hill to darjeeling mall then it's okay. They are having construction work going on keeping guest in rooms which keeps the floors dusty with sand and cement marks.N Absolutely not recommended..

Excellent place, excellent service and excellent food, and specially the ambience and owner madam and sir were very down to earth. Treated us like their home guests. Truly recommend.

Very bad behavior. I called to go there, he spoke with a lot of attitude, and while I was talking he cut the call.. next time he didn't even receive the call.I had a very bad experience. It's better not to go to a home stay where they treat their customers like this.

We stayed here from 10-11 Oct, and the walk from Bhanu Bhawan to their stay was a little hard for my parents. The room and food were pretty decent. My parents loved the quiet and peaceful atmosphere around the house. It’s just below the Mall Road, so we were able to reach the mall within 15 mins from the homestay.

Very bad experience with this Inn, very bad toilet, flush of toilet does not work at all, water supply is is very bad no water only little drops from tape, very bad behaviour from the owner => while we were leaving for other hotel this evening (although 1 day advance payment was done already) as my mother had problems while climbing up & down the route. I did not at all liked this inn & don't even suggest as well. I did not want to give a single star as well to this inn. Worst

Actually I did not reached there ,we cancelled our trip,but one thing I would say ,don't pay advance payment. I booked a room for 2 days , they ask me for one day advance payment,I have sent rs-2500 ,after that my trip was cancelled,i call 🤙 them whatsapp chat them but no response from them very bad experience,mr subash had no reply to me.he has seen my chats on whatsapp no response,i called him he didn't pick my phone.very bad person.

The hospitality are so kind, very understanding and her provided foods are delicious. Owner are good humor and well organizer. But old age or heavyweight person should avoid to visit because the down walk to mall location, but options is their - you can contact the owner or visit the owner's another hotel beside the mall.

1st things 1st, the hosts are extremely sweet and accomodating. The views are just magnificent. The only issue is the location. If you are carry a lot of luggage they can arrange the paid services of a porter for a nominal charge. That being said there is no readily accessable I route by car so walking will be involved. And a slight steep climb. Without luggage an inexperienced but average fit traveller can reach the point in 20 minutes from club side and 30 mins from old taxi stand. Ensure that you are taking deshbandhu road and not the "mall scenic route". We faced that confusion on the 1st day.

Best stay ever..cleanest rooms with fluffiest pillows, cleanest bedsheets and nice food..reaching there was but difficult..but overall a wonderful experience..I might book again when I visit next time.Would recommend couples to visit this homestay as the rooms are very cozy ;)

My wife loved their cozy bed and big ceiling to floor window. They gave us home cooked healthy food and always wore a smile on face.

Roads are steep n risky

During our recent Darjeeling trip, we stayed at this homestay. The behavior of homestay owner was good. Room and washroom were clean. There was 24 hours hot water facility in the washroom. Our room was on the second floor and there was sufficient sunlight during the morning time. You can be able to see 'Kangchenjunga' partially from the balcony of the room if the sky is clear. There was no self cooking facility inside the room. Lunch was not provided because the owner use to go office during the day time. Only dinner was provided and the food quality was good. Good quality blanket was provided. The place is not very far from the mall, but it has elevation which can create problems for senior people. You can get bike taxi to go to mall from the homestay.

We stayed at Himalayn Inn Homestay from 26/10/2024 till 29/10/2024 and it was an amazing experience to say the least. The proprietors, Mr and Mrs Chettri were amazing hosts and left no stones unturned in making our stay a pleasant and memorable experience. While the homestay is quite close to the Chawrasta, it can be a bit tricky, especially for people who aren't very fit coming there from the homestay as it is a very steep walk. But they will arrange for Julu rides or Porter if you ask them to. The rooms were very nice, airy and well ventilated and one of them has a balcony as well. Both rooms have one double bed, one single bed and a sofa , a clean bathroom with geyser and though storage options are limited we didn't face any problem as we are used to living out of a suitcase during trips. The food that we were served was homely and light... I am sure people of all age groups will be able to enjoy the food that is served here. Overall, for the price that we paid, I think this was a very good experience and I wouldn't mind paying a few more bucks for this experience.
